Can you get rid of yahoo toolbar?

Yesterday I noticed for the first time that there is an addtion to my Yahoo toolbar! It says "UPGRADE YOUR TOOLBAR NOW!" I don't want to as I have it customized exactly like I want it! BUT, I can't get rid of this dumb text that is taking up...

i am unable to remove the yahoo toolbar through the pencil/edit button from the toolbar itself or from the control panel add/remove programs section. PLEASE HELP because it is making my internet WAY slower!!!
