Computer screen turning black?

My computer starts up fine and I can use it for a bit, but at random times the screen will just turn black. The mouse does not show up and ctrl/alt/del does not work. The computer stays on and any sound continues to play while the screen is black, but...

I overheated my computer a few days ago, and now whenever i run my computer for more than 5 minutes or so my monitor turns black as if it is off. I already know that the gfx card is not to blame, i took it out and the screen still kept turning black...

okay several times because of my lazy family. i get called away to do this run trips up and downstairs. get something out of the garage.. take care of my sisters kids cause shes a fail parent... anyways i dont have a screen saver so it goes black after...

not a screen saver, but it will just turn black.. and i have to move my mouse for it to go away.. i'm watching a movie right now so i want to relax without the screen going black

my computer takes ten minutes to turn on and when i do there is a black screen with a cursor and my computer wont let me download things and itunes dosnt work and couple of other things, it also wont install games on it please help ;0

I have a Vista computer. This is what I do. Pause the movie> Hit Print Screen> Paste to Paint. But when I paste it, it is just a black image. Is there anyway that I can fix that?
