How can I text a cell phone through my email?

I know you have to put your number and then a certain email address for example 1111111111111@verizonwireless.com, something like that, ive tried that but nothing. Any help. The email im sending its from my computer, to my cell as a text. thanks

I know what I'm supposed to be emailing to: phonenumber@txt.att.net I attach an image, I get the message on my phone, but not the image?

2 problems: I have a joint email account (we'll call it Qes), allowing me to use different email addresses within Qes, when receiving email there. (I haven't used this Qes account for years, but it still works.) Then, today, I decided I needed Qes again...
