How do I fix my XBOX 360 3 red light problem?

as i said i have an xbox 360 elite that is getting the e74 error. ( 1 red light in bottom right quadrant.) i had pulled of my warranty sticker so i took it to a local guy and he fixed it. the graphics card had to be replace, as so i was told. it worked...
