Hello, I want to connect my electric guitar to my computer. I have windows 7 64 bit, in case that helps you identify a problem. I tried plugging my guitar straight to the mic port, it worked, but no amplification, and laods of static, so I plugged it to the amp, and then the headphones from the amp to the mic on the pc, nothing. Anyone know a free way I can do it? I have 2 amps, and I have sufficient cables for your idea (I think!) Jonathan

I connect mine in to the line in, but is not much of an amplification in the regular speakers I use...
