How do you save files to a cd?

i got a new hard drive but forgot 2 save myold files on something. i had pictures documents and a lot off other thigns on my old hard drive. how can i get these things back?

A friend of mine gave me a CD of .m4a audio files from his Mac that I want to save to my PC, then convert to mp3 files. How do I do this?

After saving even a small file on the non RW CD-R, it is filled although it has 700MB space and the CD becomes unusable. Is there any way to utilise the full 700 MB so we can save multiple files?

I have several files to save to a CD-R. Not a CD-R/W. They are .pdf's but that doesn't matter, right? I am assuming if they are all in one folder and I click-and-drag the entire folder to the CD-drive (in windows explorer of course). That should work...
