In the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, minors must have a letter of parental permission signed by both parents to travel outside the country alone or with someone other than their parents. I have never seen and cannot find any info on this issue for the UK...

I am curious to know if one who is a minor can leave the country without parental consent. Is there any point in the process of travel where the parent MUST be involved? Do they need to approve the passport? the airline ticket? or can a minor get a passport...
