How to change a color scheme on my yahoo?

On the Yahoo instant messenger how do I change my color scheme when I type text???

I want to change the color scheme in yahoo mail beta, I've already tried going to options in the upper right, then mail options, then changing the color there, but that only changes it for the old mail (original layout), it doesn't change the beta colors...
