How to get IE8 back? installed IE9 and hate it?

I went to the microsoft site and attempted to download it but system told me I already had IE9, can I uninstall this and then reinstall IE8? Do I need to keep the relevant window open to get 8? (Sorry if this is obvious, I'm not very tech savvy!)
