How to i sign out of im?

Yahoo IM keeps trying to sign me in with an old outdated ID which I don't have or use anymore, thus it always fails, and I have to close the box and manually sign-in with my newer current ID. How do I completely delete the old IM ID from Yahoo?

My sign in name is mommyof2girls80. When I enter a chat room that is the name that shows, but if someone ims me then my real name shows in the im box and not my sign in name. I don't want everyone knowing my real name. How do I change it? Thanks
