How to make google earth faster?

What options can i change to make it stream faster. Im only at 33% most of the time while flying.

The program knows the size of the image, the focal length etc.  How can I see the photos overlaid on the space? That way I could navigate through the images and see the actual space? (I am currently testing to see if Photosynth will get me this effect...

I don't know if it's possible, but is there a way to make the buildings in Google Earth solid? For example if I was in flight sim and wanted to land on a aircraft carrier, how can this be done. I think that I've seen it done before.

How does google benefit/profit by investing very large amounts of money in these types of projects? I am aware google makes money on ad revenue, but I don't see ads popping up while using these resources.

I am an engineering(E&C) grad and a PG in software. If Google Earth and/or Wikimapia were available during my school years, I think I would have gone to study geography or history instead of engineering.

at school my friend said that area 51on google earth is fake because "the US goverenment wouldn't let google put a top secret place on google earth." is he right.

I will take a picture of a particular building and I will make it 3 dimensional and I will paste the picture on Google Earth... but someone said there is a particular software that can convert a picture into a 3d object... and I don't know the software...

I am guessing the YouTube ban is affecting some of the image servers for Google Earth, rendering the program unusable. While it is fairly easy to work around the ban for YouTube by setting a proxy in the browser, Google Earth does not have any proxy...
