How to save a picture as jpeg?

When ever i try and save a picture I used the paint brush tool to color, in coral, you can see the brush stroke effect, its nice looking, and helps make the picture look 3d. But when I save the picture as a jpeg file, the brush strokes vanish, replaced...

I edited a picture of mine using Microsoft Word 2011 and I want to make it my Facebook profile picture, but it's in a word document format. I clicked on the save as and wanted to save it as a Jpeg or something, but there was no option for it. Any ideas...
