How to set up HDMI on PS3?

hi .. I got a samsung ls32a33w and hooked it up with PS3 with HDMI, hoping that 1080p resolution will come-up.. Sadly PS3 only recognize to 480p.. Vurious with the TV!! coz the brochure said it can support 780p/1080p... Does anybody knows how to set...

the audio and video works when the PS3 is hooked up to the TV, but the TV's audio is connected to the reciever thru a optical audio ouput, the audio is coming out of the TV from the PS3 but not the audio from the TV to the reciever, so is there a setting...
