Is Russia An Asian OR European Country?

Russia lies in both the continents so do we refer to it as an Asian or an European country

I thought Russia was a European country but I'm not sure.

Russia is part European, part Asian. At what geographical area of the country does the split occur?

Even the people from Russia, such as people from Siberia etc look Asian. Why does the Russian government neglect the asian part of its country?
