My 1996 Dodge Intrepid 3.3L won't start?

My mother has a 1996 Dodge Ram with a 3.9 V6. It will turn over and over, but will not start. No check engine light on. She is 200 miles away and I can't help her. Any suggestions on where to start? She does have minor mechanical skills.

Dodge Neon(1996)..2.0...SOHC...will not start, engine turns but it just grinds and will not start..What are some reasons for this? Is the engine shot or blowed? If so how can you tell? There is no oil leaks or gas leaks. The car has set still since sometime...

so while driving it there is no issue but then once you park it and come back to start it up again sometimes it will not start... it is the not the battery because all the lights turn on once you turn the key its just the engine will not start.... but...
