My windows live messenger won't work?

heyy i installed the new windows live messenger 2009 which works fine. i then downloaded the new plus live update and it isnt showing up on my msn? please help me x

i have 2009 messenger and the brand new patchou messenger plus, but no matter how many times i reinstall it, my msn wont read it help?! xxx
