Paper mache with white paper towels?

I have a ball to paper mache. The circumference is 42 inches. I have NO newspaper unfortunately and my neighbors do not either. I'm babysitting so I can't go anywhere. What I DO have though is a CRAP load of magazines lol and a few rolls of paper towels...

My Doberman eats (or at least shreds) paper towels and toilet paper. The toilet paper is of course unused, but the paper towels could have just been used to wipe up water. I could understand it if the paper towels had bacon grease or something like that...
