What colleges in the US are tuition free?

So my dad said I get free tuition since he's been in the US military for almost 35 yrs? Is this right? Are there certain colleges this applies to? Like state colleges? If it helps any I live in California, How do I find out more about this?? Thanks!

My financial aid will pay 100% of my tuition up to some pretty high annual limits (varies by state), but will not cover non-mandatory fees. Housing is one of the uncovered fees... so I'm looking for a school in which the cost of staying in the dorms...

i was just thinking about it... and i think they should be. i mean, i dont think PRIVATE colleges should be free, but they should make state colleges free (but obviously theyd still need to be accepted). then we'd have more people working in better jobs...
