What do you do when your thumb joint hurts 2 months after injury?

the second toe of my right foot hurts a lot... there is no external injury... it hurts just right at the base of the toe(where the toe starts).and the whole region hurts but there is this one point at the base which hurts when touched...there is no swelling...
