i bought this car for 500 dollars. the mileage on my car is 192,000.its a 1997 ford taurus that drives great, the only problem is that from 1st to second gear is lunges. the 'service engine soon' light went on, got a diagnostic test on it, and apparently its the transmission module. I'm a 17 year old girl who doesnt know anything about cars so could you tell me what will happen if this does not get fixed soon, and how much it will cost? where do i go from here?! thanks soo much!

you'll eventually ruin the transmission and if the lunge is hard enough then ruin the mounts remember...
