What is a good external mic for the Canon HV30?

I'm not sure the mic input in Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder can accomodate such mic that is normally used by professional broadcast journalist since the input is quite small. I'm new. But i need to work on the small camcorder (for mobility convenience)...

I'm just looking for a wide angle lens that covers alot of area. Not a fisheye lens though. And a boom mic that has crisp and clear audio without any hissing or background noise. I'm trying to make a "serious" short film.
