What is the best type of translucent polymer clay?

I am planning on buying some polymer clay. Should I use Sculpey or Fimo and what is the difference between these 2 companies?

...and what about glosses to give it a nice finish?

I use Sculpey III and Fimo Soft, I was wondering what markers are good for those clays so that it doesn't smear. I am also looking for something that has a fine tip where I could glaze the sculpture over.
