What kind of Insect is this?

When I was walking my dog outside, I saw a white object on the sidewalk. I went over to look at it and flipped it over, and it looked like a grasshopper. Although im not really sure if its a grasshopper or some sort, what kind of insect is it? or what kind of a grasshopper is it? Its wings are oval-shaped, has a white stomach (like bird feces), its legs were all scrunced up together, and its eyes stick out, and spread apart wide.
