What's it like to be a travel agent?

I am 18 in November and have just started an apprenticeship in a travel agents and it is pretty rubbish.Its not what i expected to be as you have to do so many things like printing things,invoices,sorting things out,phoning people,putting away brochures...

i don't know anything about booking a plane ticket. What's the best way to get a cheap flight? Is it with a travel agent or is it cheaper to find online at say priceline? I did notice that priceline seems to be just for standby with a car for the one...

I'm wanting to become a travel agent, I want to know if I have to be certified, and if so what school or co. should I go through? Also how is the comission? Is it a steady job?

Or if theres such a thing as a free one. I'm wanting to go to toronto, Canada and i'm about a thousand and a half miles away. Also have questions about toronto if anyone is ok to answer for me!
