What takes the redness out of sunburn?

I got sunburn a little over a week ago and still have some mild itching behind my knees and on my calves;I don't think the skin is infected because there was no blistering at any point. Is it normal for sunburn itching to last this long? Also, does anyone...

Is it possible to have a (very painful) sunburn with minimal redness? I work outside all day and rarely use sunblock (i know I know) and this morning I was in the sun longer than usual. I have SOME redness on my cheeks, but not any more than normal....
