Why does yahoo mail not allow free Forwarding?

I noticed that there is no simple way to forward emails from my ymail account to my gmail account unlike most other email hosts am I wrong?

I have an option in my Yahoo! Mail specifically at "POP & Forwarding" section. My question is, what does the "Allow your Yahoo! Mail to be POPed" option do? Besides letting me choose if my e-mails will have the Spam mails POPed...
