Why doesn't audio system work on a low volume?

i have a compaq laptop. for some reason the volume isnt working. like i clik the volume buttion at the bottom right side corner and put it to 100 but i can barely hear bella's lullaby! please help me! i want to hear that song! how can i fix my volume...

i went to best buy to get my cars system (i have a new suv) and they told me that once i change from stock system to the one im buying.. that my controls on the sterring wheel wont work anymore.. like the volume ect thing. is this true??

i was putting my headphones in to go on the running machine whilst holding the little magnet thing to make the running machine work.. it litterally touched the back of my pod for a second... now te sliding bar at the bottom.. and the buttons on the side...

how do i get rid of a computer virus when system restore DOESNT get rid of it? is there something else i can try???? i have spybot search and destroy and that didnt work.. and i also have norton and system mechanic... none of these pick up the virus...

I downloaded some videos of Roger Federer (he rules) , and tried playing them on my Realplayer SP thingymabob . They worked fine , but the volume wasnt working . Can some one please tell me what to do ? And also , please don't give stupid suggestions...
