Would this Orange Coaxial cable work with my PS3?

I have a ps3 and i play it on a hd tv. I once used an hdmi cable to play it but the cable messed up and i treid to use the original cable, the AV cable, the one with the yello red and white outlets to play it but it will not work. Please help!

does the HD quality cable(the cable that makes ps3 has better graphics) work in any television?or just in plasm screen televisions?

I'm getting a PS3 soon and I want a PS3 Component AV Cable, but I don't wanna go out and buy one. So will my Xbox 360 Component AV Cable be able to plug into my PS3?

and will i need to buy american ps3 games to play, or can i buy british ps3 games? is the PS3 area specific?

I just recently bought a ps3 and did not get an HDMI cable with it, so i was going to pick one up, so heres my question... would any HDMI cable work or does it have to be specific to the ps3?
