How do you get animated profile picture?

Id like to put on an animated picture as my profile picture instead of the blank one i have,but dont know how to do it.Can anyone explain please?But in easy terms please,only just begun with this pc stuff.

I know that if you upload a picture to your profile, it has to be .jpg or .png, so how can you make it animated? I also used a website to change a .gif to .png, but then it stopped moving and whatnot.
