my msn keeps freezing after i send a message to someone and also i installed msn plus but i dont see it on my messenger please help

So for the past week or so, MSN has started freezing up. Like when I'm typing the text won't show for 10 seconds or so and it's basically really slow, unless I terminate the process via windows task manager and restart MSN, at which point it works well...
