Why do mosquito bites itch so bad?

i was camping and now i got a bunch of mosquito bites. some have been driving me nuts. the other ones are almost like they aren't there. why is that? the one that bugs me the most is bigger then the other ones. i don't think i have any type of real bad...

I have always wondered why Mosquito bites itch so much! I got bit by 15 mosquitos on the backs of my legs (I went to a ranch) Why do they get so red and cause red bumps?! What can I use to relieve the itch?

Every summer I get a ton of mosquito bites that leave large welts and itch horribly for a while afterward. So I was curious what exactly makes them itch?

They itch, and itch and itch!! And i don't even know why?!?!!?

I got eaten ALIVE by the damn things on the weekend, and was wondering- why do they itch? Whereas other bug bites sting or hurt? And how do I stop the itch?!

Mosquito bites normally begin itching within a couple hours if not minutes. I find that the intense itching of these bites often start days after the attack. Also from personal experience the itching is much more severe.

And also why do they itch even more when you itch em?? Any itching creams that work well or home remedies?? Thank you :)
