The cost of living--College student?

I have two living options. option one entails living with a roommate, 4 ppl to a bathroom, once a week chores, once a week-cooking teams--cook for 17 ppl--- (and cleaning kitchen), once a month house meeting. option two entails single room, and 2 ppl to bathroom. HOWEVER, it is $1200 extra for the entire year. Which do you think is better...I really would love to save money, but a part of me does not want to deal with the headache of the chores, the cooking, and the deadlines etc....should i just...
